What do you want in lfe?

When asked ‘What do you want in life?’

What do you want?

What do you want?

Really, what do you want in your life?

About 7 out of 10 would tell me. They want happiness and peacefulness.

How do we achieve the happiness and peacefulness?

They say they are working hard to make more money to fulfill the happiness and peacefulness….

The happiness comes from the money that they use to buy the house, the clothes, the cars, jewelries, shoes, bags, gadget,….

To achieve more, to get married, have kids,…

To achieve even more, investment on buildings, houses, shares,…

…..

That’s reminds me of, a lady who handed her box of jewelries to a ground staff due to miscommunication before she boarded the plane….

During the flight…

She spilt her drink on her first class seat….

She did not have the appetite to eat onboard….

She basically could not relax through out the whole flight….

Her mind was totally drawn to the jewelry box that she had passed to the ground staff.

The questions that she asked was basically about her valuables repeatedly…

What happen to the theory of making and owning more to have the happiness and peacefulness?

Having more is really having the peace of mind?

Some rich men still worry about their children if they are no longer around….

Vs. a carefree bag packer could roam around without any concern about how others think of him…

Carefree villagers who enjoy their simple life and even declined to have the opportunity to make more money in the city…

Are we really breaking free from the cage of worries by making more money?

It seem the more money we have, the more burden we are carrying….

I remember of my late super carefree grandmother mentioned in Chinese “when we can carry it, means we can put it down too”….

Now I understand, it is the state of mind that she was referring…

It is not about how much money a person makes.

I believe you heard of those stories about…

How politicians could make a country collapse, by the money that they made and spent….

Some rich men could gamble away their buildings over night…

Some rich tai tai (mrs) could non stop buying bags after bags, shoes after shoes, just to filled up a temporary thrill…

The state of mind and carefree is ultimately what people are seeking for…

The state of mind that we do not need to pretend…

The state of mind that we do not need to wear a mask…

The state of mind that we are comfortable to be ourselves….

The state of mind that we are honest to face our weaknesses and make the change…

Eventually, the happiness and peacefulness that people are seeking for is to live in HONESTY… it is not about how much do we make…
