Learning

Willing to throw yourself into the unknown is the best way to learn new things. It is just like when we first going to kindergarten, most of us cried because of the fear of facing a total new environment. Then every phase that we went, we felt a mixture of excitement and uncomfortable in side and yet we knew we had to go through these phases in order to gain more knowledge and move forward. Now, it seems we are mature enough and very comfortable of where we are, and have a choice to choose not to proceed further to learn new way of doing things.

Friends and myself used to have this joke ‘When you find yourself resistant to change, there is when you are considered to be useless!’ Come to a shock that, many of us are heading toward this route of ‘resistant to change’ as early as in twenties!

When we meet people who are resistant to change at their old age, we find them not efficient at work while they are waiting for retirement. In contrast, there are people who always make themselves useful, progress and willing to adapt to learning new things, we call them master, guru, adviser, consultant…

People who always find themselves in the position of having opportunity to learn. That is also learn from the opposite, the traditional ways vs. the new / improved ways. They are willing to put themselves into the shoes of the new generation and guild them from where they were. Therefore, flexibility in behavior controls the system.

Let’s put down our age, rank and ego to learn from each other. Learning is never end, be it just play a piece of music, or seconds of reading the sky. Make every moment be a phase of learning self and life.

Happy learning!
