‘No man is free who is not a master of himself’
Robin S. Sharma
Whether consciously or unconsciously, people around you are your teachers. You choose your parents, race, gender, goals to achieve, lessons to learn,… before you come into this world.
Consistently taking time to learn and understand yourself is far more powerful than seeking emotional support from others. A good leader knows how to lead self so that can lead a team successfully. A good spiritual teacher has the quality of patience and conflict free within, in order to pass superiority messages to her/his students. An excellent parent set good example with courage, morality and motivation that s/he wants the children to benefit from.
Value is something about what you believe. It is about how you spend your time, but it is not necessarily something that you enjoy doing. E.g. some of you may find you are in a position that you are needed to attend in family matters and it is like sacrifices and obligation. Furthermore, it is against your will of practicing ‘follow your heart’.
We grow from experiences and evolve through knowing self from all of our teachers. I learned a splendid statement from an international trainer/speaker, Dr. Billy Kueek that ‘we always judge others by their actions but not their intentions. And we always judge ourselves by our intentions but not our actions’ I find it is very true and that is most part of the reason why we misunderstood each other among the human race.
Please leave behind your judgment of others’ actions and focus of their good intentions. Omit the behavior and pay attention to their spirit (unconscious mind) that would lead you to reach the messages for lessons to learn to apprehend self better each time. The more you are open to understand and love yourself, you will find that you are doing things with love and passion. Fear, sacrifice, obligation, should,… heavyhearted words are no longer in your dictionary.
Again, to fasten the process of understand ‘Who am I?’ is through meditation.
